Disclaimer & Risk Warning

Last updated: October 28, 2026
This tool is for research and education only. It does not give financial advice, and nothing it shows is a recommendation to trade. Simulated results do not predict future performance.

1. Not financial, investment, legal, or tax advice

ETH Backtesting is an educational and research tool. Nothing on the Service — including strategy descriptions, metrics, charts, auto-search results, or reports — constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold ETH, BTC, or any other asset. Always do your own research and, if needed, consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.

2. Simulated results, not real trading

All trades, returns, and metrics shown by the Service are the output of a simulation run against historical data — no real orders are placed, and no real capital is used. Backtests are necessarily simplified: they use fixed assumptions about fees, slippage, execution price (next bar's open), and position sizing (one full position, no leverage) that may not match conditions on any particular exchange or at any particular time.

3. Past performance does not predict future results

A rule that performed well on historical data, including on the "out-of-sample" check segment, may perform very differently going forward. Markets change regime, liquidity and volatility vary, and a strategy tested across many parameter combinations can look better than it truly is simply by chance (data-mining / overfitting bias) — this risk is inherent to any automatic rule search, including the one in this Service, even with the in-sample/out-of-sample split and stability checks it applies.

4. Market data limitations

Historical price, open interest, funding, and top-trader positioning data are provided by a third-party backend on a best-effort, read-only basis and may contain gaps, delays, or inaccuracies. The Service does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of this data.

5. High risk of loss

Trading cryptocurrencies, including ETH and BTC, and any derivatives (such as futures) involves a high degree of risk and can result in the loss of some or all of your capital. Only trade with funds you can afford to lose.

6. No liability

By using the Service you acknowledge that any trading or investment decisions you make, whether or not informed by output from the Service, are made at your own discretion and risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the Service disclaims all liability for any losses or damages arising from such decisions. See also the Terms of Use.
