ETH Backtesting is designed to collect as little data as possible. This page explains what does — and does not — happen with your data when you use the Service.
The Service does not require registration, does not ask for your name, email, or any other personal information, and does not run analytics or advertising trackers. We do not maintain user accounts or profiles.
Your backtest settings, auto-search runs, and any rules you star (★) as "saved" are stored using your
browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device — it is never transmitted to us or to any
third party, and it is removed if you clear your browser's site data. You can export it to a JSON file and
re-import it yourself at any time from the "Saved" tab.
To display charts and run backtests, your browser requests historical price, open interest, and funding data from a backend API. These requests contain only the parameters needed to fetch that data (such as a trading pair, interval, and time range) — no personal identifiers are attached. Standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp, requested path) may be retained briefly by the hosting infrastructure for security and abuse-prevention purposes, as is standard for any web service.
The Service does not set cookies.
The Service uses open-source client-side libraries (such as a charting library) that run entirely in your browser and do not transmit your data elsewhere. The market-data backend is a read-only data source and does not receive any information about you beyond the request itself.
The Service is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from them.
